Stocks Surge for SAMG Entertainment Following BLACKPINKs Lisas Social Media Post

The stock price of SAMG Entertainment, the production company behind the animated series Hachuping, soared on the 24th, closing at 62,200 KRW, a remarkable increase of 20.08% from the previous day. This surge was attributed to news that Lisa from the popular girl group BLACKPINK posted a photo of a Hachuping grip talk on her social media. With her Instagram following reaching 100 million, her endorsement is seen as a powerful marketing force.
Previously, when Lisa shared a photo of a keychain featuring the Chinese character Rabubu, sales for the character saw an explosive increase. Analysts predict that SAMG Entertainments stock will maintain upward momentum in the fourth quarter.
An analyst from Shinhan Investment Corp noted that the company faced significant fixed costs during the third quarter, which is traditionally a slow season for toys. They expect that revenues from collaborations with SM Entertainment and licensing settlements will predominantly reflect in the fourth quarter.
In other news, NH Investment & Securities has raised its target price for Doosan from 805,000 KRW to 930,000 KRW. Analyst Lee Seung-young stated that despite the recent rise in stock prices, the valuation remains attractive. He explained that if the holding companys operational value were fully reflected without discounts, the discount rate for subsidiary equity based on current market capitalization would reach 82%. The performance of its own businesses, including Electronics BG, Doosan Enerbility, and Doosan Robotics, is also showing positive trends. In the last third quarter, Electronics BGs revenue is estimated to have increased by 83.9% year-on-year to 458.9 billion KRW, with operating profit soaring by 344.8% to approximately 132.1 billion KRW.
IBK Investment & Securities has increased its target price for NCSoft from 235,000 KRW to 280,000 KRW, citing the anticipated success of the new game Aion 2. Analyst Lee Seung-hoon mentioned that Aion 2 is expected to move away from the traditional pay to win game structure, which could attract a broader audience.
