The 2025 HanKyung Star Wars Practical Investment Competition has reached its 12th week, showcasing a fierce competition among the top participants. The DaJeongDaIk team from Hyundai Motor Securities, led by managers Jeong Young-jo and Jeong Myung-jae, has secured the first place. Their success is largely attributed to significant gains from stocks such as L&K Bio and SK Hynix.

According to HanKyung.com Star Wars, as of the previous day, the average cumulative return for participants stood at 9.1%. While the KOSPI index rose by 1.34% on the same day, participants experienced a daily loss of -1.44%, leading to a slight decrease in their cumulative returns.

Nonetheless, the DaJeongDaIk team managed to earn 2 million KRW, climbing three spots to take the lead with a cumulative return of 44.18%. The teams portfolio consists of five stocks: L&K Bio, NextChip, SK Hynix, CareGen, and Hyundai Motor. On the previous day, all five stocks saw an increase in value, boosting the teams overall asset evaluation.

L&K Bio, established in 2008, is the most significant holding in their portfolio. The company specializes in spinal fixation devices, expandable cages, and plates and screws for cervical, lumbar, and thoracic applications. With FDA and CE certifications, L&K Bio has been expanding its market internationally, leading to increased buying interest. The stock price surged by 7.39% on the previous day, indicating strong upward momentum.

In second place is Lee Soo-gu from Shinhan Investment Corp, with a cumulative return of 41.05%. Despite recording a daily loss of 0.77% the previous day, the gap between Lee and the first place is roughly three percentage points. Lees gains come from stocks such as SK Hynix, Robotechs, and Dongwoon Anatech, but some of his other holdings, including Hyundai Motor 2nd Preferred B and Okins Electronics, have recorded negative returns.

The SaPilGwiJeong team from Korea Investment & Securities, consisting of Lee Kwang-hee from the Mokdong PB Center and Hong Kyung-min from the Yangjae branch, is currently in third place. The competition continues to heat up as participants seek to maximize their investment strategies and climb the leaderboard.
