Ottogi Launches Halal-Certified Jin Ramen in Indonesias Booming Instant Noodle Market

Ottogi has announced that it will sell its ramen products, including the halal-certified Jin Ramen, in Indonesia starting from the 10th of this month.
Indonesia is the second largest instant noodle market in the world, following China. According to the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA), Indonesias noodle consumption reached 14.68 billion packets last year, accounting for about 12% of the global consumption.
In response to the Indonesian governments mandate for halal certification on all food and beverage products produced domestically and internationally, effective October 2026, Ottogi secured halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) at the end of last year. To capitalize on this opportunity, Ottogi is focusing its market strategy on the popular Jin Ramen, which features a collaboration with Jin from the globally renowned K-pop group BTS. An Ottogi representative stated, "This year, we are launching a global campaign featuring BTSs Jin as our model, and local consumers are highly anticipating the products developed in collaboration with him."
To establish a foothold in the local market, Ottogi is enhancing its online and offline marketing efforts. The company is conducting tasting events at major Indonesian supermarkets, such as Ranch Market and Farmers Market, and plans to enter Southeast Asias largest e-commerce platforms, Shopee and TikTok Shop. They are also expanding consumer engagement through live commerce and influencer collaborations.
In addition to Jin Ramen, Ottogi will introduce three varieties of cheese ramen. An Ottogi representative emphasized, "Indonesia is a crucial market in our global business strategy, and we are actively pursuing various distribution channels to ensure our success in this region."
