Police Investigate Illegal Medical Practices Linked to TV Personality Park Na-rae
Police are currently investigating illegal medical practices associated with television personality Park Na-rae, 41, and have conducted a search on a woman known as Injection Aunt. According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, they carried out a search of the residence of an individual, referred to as Ms. Lee, who is under suspicion of violating medical and pharmacy laws, as well as drug management regulations. Ms. Lee is accused of illegally administering intravenous fluids and prescribing antidepressants to Park Na-rae at various locations, including an officetel (a type of studio apartment) and a vehicle, without having a medical license in South Korea.
Two individuals who claim to have received home visits from Ms. Lee, YouTuber Lip-Jjalbeun Haetnim (Kim Mi-kyung, 44) and SHINee member Key (Kim Ki-bum, 34), have also halted their broadcasting activities following the controversy. Police plan to summon both Ms. Lee and Park Na-rae sequentially to verify the facts as soon as the analysis of the seized materials is complete.
Shortly after the controversy emerged, Ms. Lee shared a photo of herself in a doctors gown, claiming to have served as the youngest and the first foreign professor at Inner Mongolias Peking University Health Science Center. However, this claim has not been verified, and evidence of her performing medical procedures without legitimate qualifications has led to her being targeted in the ongoing investigation.
In a previous appearance on SBS’s Curious Story Y, a woman recounted her experience receiving treatment from Ms. Lee, stating, "It seems she viewed her connections with celebrities as a form of power and sought fame and financial gain through her proximity to them."
Another anonymous entertainer shared that they had also been contacted by Ms. Lee, who introduced herself as a doctor operating a dermatology clinic and expressed interest in collaborating on a business venture, citing her as a fan.
During the investigation, the name card used by Ms. Lee mentioned a plastic surgeon based in Gangnam, who has yet to make a statement regarding the allegations. The police investigation continues as they delve deeper into the illegal medical activities and connections surrounding this case.
