With a planned investment of approximately $80 billion (KRW 110 trillion) in facilities and R&D, Samsung is strengthening its competitiveness in next-generation AI chips, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM). As a result, Pyeongtaek is rapidly emerging as a critical global semiconductor production hub.
The restart of construction for Samsung’s P5 plant at the Pyeongtaek campus, scheduled for full operation in 2028, is expected to bring a significant influx of skilled workers and related industries, boosting the local economy.
Amid these developments, Brain City a large-scale industrial and residential complex near the Samsung campus is gaining attention as a key beneficiary area. Designed as a self-sustaining city integrating industry, research, healthcare, and housing, it is expected to become a major residential hub in the region.
“Brain City Vista Dongwon,” a large-scale apartment complex with approximately 1,600 units, stands out within this development. The project offers a mix of mid-sized and larger units, catering to both practical homeowners and long-term investors.
With convenient access to major transportation networks, including Pyeongtaek Jije Station (SRT and Subway Line 1) and nearby expressways, as well as proximity to Samsung’s campus and industrial zones, the complex offers strong job-housing proximity.
Industry experts note that continued investment by Samsung is likely to drive sustained housing demand in the area, positioning Vista Dongwon as a high-potential residential development.
