Controversy Surrounds Kim Hyun-Jis Absence at National Assembly Audit

The absence of Kim Hyun-Ji, the Chief Secretary of the Presidential Office and a close aide to President Lee Jae-Myung, from the National Assembly audit has stirred significant controversy. The People Power Party (PPP) criticized the situation, claiming, "This years National Assembly audit began and ended with Kim Hyun-Ji."
On October 7, during a party strategy meeting held at the National Assembly, PPP floor leader Song Eon-Seok remarked, "We hope she continues to hide well. Even if she hides at the end of the earth, the peoples order will bring her to the National Assembly."
Song accused the Lee Jae-Myung administration of resorting to trickery by abruptly transferring Kim Hyun-Ji from the position of Chief Secretary to the Chief Secretary of the Presidential Office just before the audit, stating, "They have employed all sorts of tricks and violations to keep Kim Hyun-Ji hidden."
He further criticized the Presidential Office for shifting the responsibility to the National Assembly, saying, "The Presidential Office claimed Kim would attend if the National Assembly decided so, while the ruling party steadfastly refused to agree to repeated requests from the opposition. This is like a rigged game of Go-Stop (a Korean card game)."
Song expressed concern over the Democratic Party members vehement defense whenever Kim Hyun-Jis name was mentioned, suggesting that there might be some truth to the speculation that the current administration operates as a joint regime of Lee Jae-Myung and Kim Hyun-Ji.
He also listed his Worst Five for the National Assembly audit, naming five members from the Democratic Party, including Choi Min-Hee, Chairman of the Media and Communications Committee, Woo Sang-Ho, Chief of Policy, Jo Won-Cheol, Chief of the Legislation Office, Lee Chan-Jin, Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service, and Jo Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He pointed out that Choi Min-Hee should be investigated for violations of the Kim Young-Ran Act and bribery allegations, while Woo Sang-Ho made false statements to the public regarding Kim Hyun-Jis attendance. He criticized Jo Won-Cheol for forgetting his duties and making absurd claims about President Lee never meeting with the Daejang-dong group, and mocked Lee Chan-Jin for his contradictory statements about selling one of his two apartments.
