Kookmin Bank Donates 100 Million Won to Support Underprivileged Children with Illnesses

On the 7th, Kookmin Bank announced that it has donated 100 million won to the Green Umbrella Child Fund, represented by Chairman Hwang Young-ki, to support children from low-income families who are suffering from illnesses. The donation ceremony took place at the Childrens Foundation building, attended by Shin Jeong-won, head of the Green Umbrella, and Park Young-se, Vice President of Kookmin Banks Consumer Protection Group, along with representatives from both organizations.
This donation was raised through the Kookmin Bank and Customers Together for Children with Illnesses project. Customers who participate in Kookmin Banks customer satisfaction survey contribute to the donation amount based on the number of completed surveys. By simply participating in the survey, customers can join the campaign.
Since the campaign began in 2021, Kookmin Bank has donated a total of 500 million won to the Green Umbrella. The recently donated funds will be used for medical expenses and living costs to aid in the recovery and health of the children.
A representative from Kookmin Bank stated, "We hope the donations made possible through our customers participation will serve as a strong support for children to freely pursue their dreams and hopes. We will continue to uphold our corporate social responsibility and strive for a better world in the future."
In addition, Kookmin Bank has consistently carried out a program inviting children with heart disease from Cambodia since 2012. To date, the bank has invited 107 Cambodian children to South Korea for free surgeries. In 2014, the bank established the KB Kookmin Bank Hebron Heart Center in Cambodia, providing surgical support and scholarships, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing charitable efforts.
