President Lee Jae-myung has introduced the CSP Vision aimed at strengthening cooperation between South Korea and ASEAN during the Korea-ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 27th. He remarked, "South Korea and ASEAN share a neighborly relationship where we have supported each other in challenging times," and expressed his commitment to ensuring that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) translates into tangible benefits for the citizens.

President Lee emphasized the importance of economic cooperation, noting that ASEAN is now South Koreas third-largest trading partner. He highlighted that South Korea is investing in the future of ASEAN with $8.5 billion in official development assistance (ODA), underscoring the mutual desire to expand economic ties.

Furthermore, he presented a three-fold vision for South Koreas role in ASEAN, stating that the country aims to be a facilitator of dreams and hopes for ASEAN, a launchpad for growth and innovation, and a partner for peace and stability.

Addressing recent concerns regarding organized crime in border areas, particularly in light of recent kidnapping and detention incidents in Cambodia, President Lee stated, "There is a growing spread of organized crime syndicates in border regions, and South Korean police will collaborate with ASEAN nations to eradicate transnational crime."
