South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet greeted each other with a handshake on the 27th at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ahead of the Korea-Cambodia summit. During their meeting, President Lee expressed his gratitude for the special consideration shown by the Cambodian authorities towards South Koreans, stating, "In South Korea, our citizens are in a very sensitive state due to scam crimes. I sincerely thank you for your care towards our people."

Prime Minister Hun Manet responded by emphasizing the importance of the well-being of South Koreans in Cambodia, saying, "The safety of Koreans in Cambodia is a top priority for me." He also acknowledged a recent unfortunate incident where a South Korean university student passed away in Cambodia, extending his condolences for the tragic event.

Furthermore, he mentioned that efforts are being made to track individuals involved in scams in collaboration with South Korea, indicating a commitment to addressing these issues and ensuring the safety of citizens from both countries. This meeting highlights the ongoing diplomatic relations and mutual concerns regarding the safety and well-being of citizens abroad.
