Trump and Japanese PM Discuss Strengthening US-Japan Alliance in Tokyo Meeting

During his visit to Asia, U.S. President Donald Trump held a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaiichi on the 28th at the Motoakasaka State Guesthouse in Tokyo.
According to reports from Kyodo and Reuters, President Trump stated in his opening remarks, "We (the U.S. and Japan) are the strongest allies," and emphasized that "the U.S.-Japan relationship will become stronger than ever before."
He further commented on the U.S.-Japan trade agreement, calling it a "very fair agreement" but noted that a new agreement would be signed.
In response, Prime Minister Takaiichi expressed her commitment to making the U.S.-Japan alliance the "greatest alliance in the world." She highlighted her intentions to usher in a new golden era for the alliance aimed at enriching both Japan and the United States.
Additionally, Takaiichi announced her plan to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, referencing the ceasefires mediated by him between Thailand and Cambodia, as well as the truce agreement between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas. She remarked, "In a short period, the world has become more peaceful," and appreciated President Trumps steadfast commitment to global peace and stability, expressing her deep admiration for his efforts.
