During a National Assembly audit meeting, the partys floor leader Song Eon-seok stated, "Deputy Minister Lees irresponsible comment suggesting that people should buy homes when prices stabilize has firmly nailed the hearts of the public. He has created a situation where low-income citizens are left as renters due to loan regulations."
Song further accused Lee of hypocrisy, noting, "While he has profited from gap investments and amassed wealth exceeding 5 billion won, he dismisses the plight of housing-less citizens with mocking suggestions to simply wait. If he is the one responsible for creating this housing despair, he should judge his own position instead of belittling the public with a two-minute apology on YouTube."
Secretary General Jeong Hee-yong echoed these sentiments, stating, "Lee should have resigned instead of just apologizing. The comment by a Democratic Party member that 150 million won is a reasonable price for a citizens apartment starkly illustrates the perception of key figures in the Lee Jae-myung administration and has left the public feeling a significant sense of loss."
