Band Sorams Plans for a Solo Future After New Album Release
Korean band Soram, consisting of members Ko Young-bae, Seo Myun-ho, and Lee Tae-wook, held a showcase on the afternoon of the 16th at the MPMG headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their new EP titled DREAM. This new music marks a significant moment as it is expected to be the last release from the trio, as they plan to conclude their 15-year journey as a group with the release of DREAM and a concert scheduled for January next year. Following this, Soram will transition to a solo act led by Ko Young-bae.
During the event, Ko Young-bae shared insights into the bands decision to move forward, stating, "When the team transitioned from four members to three, we faced a lot of deliberation. We worked hard together for about a year, but when discussions regarding contract renewals arose this spring, we agreed it was time to thoughtfully consider our futures. We all felt that it was the right moment for each of us to pursue our own paths."
He continued, "Saying goodbye is inherently sad, but I suggested that we take some time to make the separation less painful, and we all agreed. We wanted to challenge ourselves in ways that had never been done before. Thus, we decided to carry out our final activities and conclude our time together."
Regarding future activities, Ko Young-bae clarified, "Just because I will be going solo doesn’t mean I plan to make drastic changes or recruit new members. I want to maintain and evolve the path we’ve walked together for over 15 years. My goal has always been for us to become a band that feels like family, even as we part ways. I want to ensure that the departing members leave on a high note. They have allowed me to carry on the legacy of Soram on my own, and they have also supported me during this transition. We’ve even discussed the possibility of reuniting as an even more accomplished trio in the future."
