Rising Interest in In-Park Apartments Amid Demand for Pleasant Urban Living
As the demand for pleasant residential environments in urban areas increases, interest is growing in in-park apartments—a term combining in park and apartment. These apartments are developed alongside parks, allowing residents to enjoy the benefits of green spaces. Significant attention is being drawn to the upcoming supply of privately developed park projects in cities such as Busan, Incheon, and Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, expected within the year.
According to industry reports on the 15th, the private park special projects allow private developers to create long-planned urban parks and construct residential units on part of the land. Being adjacent to parks makes it convenient for residents to enjoy walking, exercising, and leisure activities.
These developments are also gaining popularity in the sales and leasing markets. In Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, the e-Pyeonghan Sesang Singok Park Vista has recorded 22 sales transactions in just the last two months. The WePark Maruk Park in Gwangju (a total of 917 units) and Hoban Summit Park Edition in Incheon’s Cheongna district (1,370 units) have both achieved full sales (100% contracts) in a short time after their launch earlier this year.
According to Real Estate Info, six private park special project apartments are scheduled for sale nationwide this year, totaling 6,715 units (6,469 for general sale). Dongwon Development will showcase The Park Vista Dongwon (rendering) this month, marking the first private park special project in western Busan. This complex will consist of 852 units (with a dedicated area of 84㎡) adjacent to the expansive Sasang Park, which covers an area of 620,000 square meters. The 84㎡T type will feature a specialized open terrace design.
Eastern Construction plans to launch the Geumdan 16 Neighborhood Park Development Special Project (tentative name; 843 units) in Incheon’s Seo-gu next month. Moreover, Seohee Construction is expected to introduce the Sanjeong Park Seohee Star Hills (tentative name; 1,784 units) in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, within the year.
