Koo Hye-sun Launches Hair Roll Product as a Multifaceted Entrepreneur

On November 20, Koo Hye-sun, a versatile entrepreneur, will launch her own hair roll product.
Koo Hye-suns career is notable even in the entertainment industry, which is filled with unique personalities. She rose to fame in the early 2000s as an ulzzang (a Korean term for someone with a pretty face) and began her entertainment career by signing trainee contracts with major management companies like SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment. She gained attention as an actress after appearing in MBCs Nonstop 5 and later in SBSs Seo Dong Yo and The King and I. Notably, she became a national sensation by playing the lead role of Geum Jan-di in KBS 2TVs Boys Over Flowers in 2009.
However, even before stepping into the spotlight, Koo Hye-sun was preparing to create her own world through directing. Not only has she acted, but she has also worked as a producer, screenwriter, musician, planner, and editor, showcasing her multifaceted talents and creating her own video works. Her late admission to Sungkyunkwan Universitys Film Studies Department was a continuation of these activities.
In addition to her film work, she has produced music albums and consistently exhibited her paintings, further demonstrating her prowess as a comprehensive artist.
Expressing her desire to learn more, Koo Hye-sun enrolled in a graduate program at KAIST. When asked if this was a completely new challenge for her, she responded, "While it seems separate, everything is connected." She explained that the patent she filed was a requirement for her graduation from Sungkyunkwan University, and upon arriving at KAIST, it immediately transitioned into a business endeavor.
In the Film Studies Department she attended, she learned about video equipment and related technologies, which is why filing a patent was part of her graduation requirements. Koo Hye-sun described it as a process of creating artistic results while handling scientific tools with a liberal arts mindset. Her journey reflects a commitment to expanding her horizons and pushing the boundaries of her creative capabilities.
