The demand for high-performance semiconductor reliability analysis is increasing due to the booming artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market. QRT, a company listed on the KOSDAQ, is poised to challenge for its best-ever performance next year by expanding its advanced reliability evaluation equipment business.

In an interview with the Korea Economic Daily on the 24th, CEO Kim Young-boo, born in 1953, presented his vision for the companys second leap forward. This marks Kims first interview in about four years, conducted at the Gwanggyo Vision Campus located at 109 Gwanggyo-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. QRTs headquarters is in Icheon, with additional operations in Cheongju and subsidiaries overseas in the United States and China. As of the first half of the year, the company employs 206 staff members.

QRT specializes in semiconductor reliability evaluation and comprehensive analysis services, as well as the development and sale of semiconductor testing equipment and solutions. Reliability evaluation is a critical quality assurance test that is required during the development and mass production processes, aimed at predicting the expected lifespan and failure rates of semiconductor products. Comprehensive analysis involves a systematic analysis process that identifies the failure mechanisms arising in various applications and suggests improvement directions.

The advanced reliability evaluation equipment business has been pioneering the development and commercialization of evaluation and analysis equipment for semiconductor radiation resistance and wireless communication functions, which are required by specifications but have been absent from the market.

Tracing back to its roots, QRT emerged from the quality assurance department of Hyundai Electronics (now SK Hynix) in 1983. The company changed its name to QRT Semiconductor in 2000 and became the first KOLAS-accredited testing institution for semiconductors in South Korea in 2004. In 2014, the business division was spun off from Hynix, and Kim acquired it on April 1, leading to the growth of QRT as we know it today.
