Belarusian Model Vera Kravtsovas Death Sparks Controversy Over Alleged Kidnapping in Thailand

Vera Kravtsova, a 26-year-old model and singer from Belarus, has been at the center of a growing controversy after allegations surfaced suggesting she was kidnapped in Thailand and subsequently murdered in Myanmar following an organ harvesting operation. The Thai government has responded to these allegations, asserting that Kravtsova left the country voluntarily.
According to local media reports from Thailand, including the Tiger, the Thai Immigration Bureau has stated that there are no signs of violence or coercion against Kravtsova while she was in Thailand, and confirmed that she departed for Myanmar on her own accord. They also released surveillance camera footage showing her at the airport before leaving.
Kravtsova, originally from Minsk, Belarus, had graduated from university and moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia, where she worked as a freelance model. Reports indicate that she arrived in Thailand on September 12, entering through Suvarnabhumi Airport, and later flew to Yangon, Myanmar, on September 20 via Thai Airways flight TG301. The footage made public by the Immigration Bureau captures her passing through the automated immigration gate at Bangkoks Suvarnabhumi Airport and boarding the flight to Myanmar.
The Deputy Director of the Thai Immigration Bureau emphasized that Kravtsova had entered Thailand on September 12 and stayed for eight days before voluntarily moving to Myanmar. They confirmed that all records of her movements, including travel history, have already been shared with the Belarusian consulate.
Furthermore, they stressed that there was no kidnapping or human trafficking incident in Thailand, asserting that the events in question occurred after she crossed the border into Myanmar, which falls outside of Thailands legal jurisdiction.
Prior to this, international media outlets such as Daily Mail had reported on Kravtsovas death, mentioning that she had traveled to Bangkok for a modeling contract. The case has raised significant concerns about the safety of foreign models and the darker aspects of the modeling industry in the region.
