Chinas Central Committee Concludes Meeting on 15th Five-Year Economic Development Plan
The annual plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, which reviewed Chinas economic development plans for the next five years, concluded on the 23rd.
On this day, the Central Committee announced in a communiqué that it had examined and approved the recommendations for the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development. General Secretary Xi Jinping explained the proposals during the plenary session.
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee set ambitious goals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period, which begins next year. The plenary emphasized, "Based on this foundation, we must strive for another five years, aiming for a substantial increase in our countrys economic strength, scientific and technological capability, defense power, comprehensive national power, and international influence by 2035. Furthermore, we aim to reach a per capita GDP level of a moderately developed country."
Additionally, it called for maintaining a focus on smart, green, and integrated development while accelerating the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse, a quality powerhouse, a space powerhouse, a transportation powerhouse, and a network powerhouse. It is essential to establish a modern industrial system based on advanced manufacturing while maintaining a reasonable ratio of manufacturing sectors.
