Lee Sang-min Makes a Comeback as a Producer After 20 Years with New YouTube Show
Lee Sang-min, a singer and producer known for his work with the group Lula, is set to make a return as a producer after nearly 20 years. This comeback will occur through his new YouTube entertainment series titled Producer Lee Sang-min.
On the 24th, Lee Sang-min revealed his plans in the first teaser video titled Lee Sang-mins Producer Comeback Declaration! Is the Music God Returning? released on his YouTube channel Producer Lee Sang-min.
The series will showcase Lee Sang-min as he auditions and produces a new mixed-gender K-pop group, documenting the entire process of creating new songs.
In the video, Lee Sang-min explained, "We have entered an era where fandoms are no longer divided by gender, and people can enjoy a team regardless of whether its a boy or girl group. Therefore, theres no need to strictly categorize them as male or female groups." This statement reflects his vision for producing a mixed-gender group.
Lee Sang-min debuted in 1994 with the mixed-gender group Lula and later transitioned into a producer, enjoying significant success by producing groups like Diva, Chakra, and Sharp. However, his music career came to a halt in 2002 when he faced substantial debts.
After his return to the entertainment industry in 2012, he focused primarily on variety shows, including SBSs My Ugly Duckling.
Additionally, Producer Lee Sang-min is a collaborative effort between Lee Sang-min and Cape Planet, a global content production company specializing in K-pop. Cape Planet is led by the only producer who has directed various audition programs such as Mnets Show Me the Money and Superstar K.
