Psy Under Investigation Amid K-Popd Premiere on Apple TV+

The news has emerged that singer Psy is under investigation for alleged proxy prescription practices, just as he is set to appear in the Apple TV+ show K-Popd representing K-pop artists. The production team has stated, "We will not comment on the individual circumstances of the participants," but they have requested that any concerns regarding his participation be addressed.
On the 29th, a video interview was conducted with PD Lee Yeon-kyu, who directed K-Popd, just before the shows premiere. When asked about the controversy surrounding Psy and the concerns regarding the shows editing in light of this situation, Lee did not provide a response. Instead, a public relations representative clarified, "We do not comment on personal matters of the participants," and further added that they would not address any questions regarding editing.
K-Popd has generated significant interest even before its broadcast, as it features legendary pop stars collaborating with K-pop artists to reinterpret each others hit songs in bold and innovative ways. The show promises unique combinations not seen before, including collaborations between Megan Thee Stallion and Billlie, the Spice Girls and ITZY, Taylor Dayne and Kep1er, TLC and STAYC, Kesha and JO1, and Kylie Minogue and ATEEZ.
However, just two days prior to the shows release, Psy found himself embroiled in the controversy surrounding proxy prescription allegations. He is currently being investigated by the Seocho Police Station in Seoul, alongside Professor A from a university hospital, for alleged violations of medical laws concerning the prescription of controlled substances. While Psy has acknowledged the receipt of medications on behalf of others, he denies any involvement in proxy prescribing.
