Controversy Erupts During National Assembly Hearing as YouTuber Expresses Shock

On the 14th, the National Assemblys Science, Technology, Information, and Broadcasting Committee hearing descended into chaos, capturing the attention of online communities. Notably, YouTuber Jjuyang (real name Park Jeong-won), who appeared as a witness, was visibly shocked by the behavior of the assembly members.
The viral video titled Even Jjuyang is Shocked by the Chaos in the Broadcasting Committee Hearing showcased the intense atmosphere as both ruling and opposition party members shouted at each other, resorting to insults.
Throughout the afternoon, the hearing experienced repeated interruptions, with sessions being halted and resumed multiple times.
During the hearing, Democratic Party member Kim Woo-young disclosed text messages he received from People Power Party member Park Jeong-hoon, dated September 2 and 5. The messages displayed on the screen included requests for a phone call and a derogatory remark. Kim explained that after making comments related to the military coup during a committee meeting, Park had sent him the texts.
In response, members of the People Power Party, including Park, questioned whether it was appropriate to disclose phone numbers and suggested that Gaetdal (a term for the Democratic Partys fervent supporters) might retaliate.
Faced with escalating protests from the People Power Party members, the chair of the committee, Choi Min-hee, announced a recess just 44 minutes into the afternoon session.
During this turmoil, Park directed insults at Kim, calling him a pathetic XX and demanded his exit from the hearing.
The session resumed 37 minutes later but continued to be marked by confrontations between the two parties. Just eight minutes into the resumed session, Chair Choi declared another halt. Following a brief pause of 31 minutes, the hearing recommenced.
Park also claimed that Kim had sent him insulting texts and requested personal remarks to be included in the discussion, intensifying the heated exchange.
This incident highlights the ongoing tensions within the National Assembly, reflecting deeper political divides and the often chaotic nature of such hearings, particularly when public figures like Jjuyang are involved.
